Our most recently developed tools are available on our 'Get Involved' page.

The following are tools that have been developed by us or others in the past.

Tools Available for your Kitchen Table Talk

  • A detailed Tool Kit for Kitchen Table Talks  (click to view online) describes the A to Z of organizing a kitchen table talk.
  • Consent form (96 KB) - Thanks to the Local Foodies of Fredricton NB for sharing the consent form they developed.  Getting participants to sign this consent form is especially important if you intend to record the kitchen table talk in any way (photos, audio or video).
  • Recipe cards - a half page summary of each discussion paper. These may provide a useful starting point for any of the 3 proposed workshops, especially "Assessing a Piece of the People's Food Policy Pie".
  • A general pamphlet that was designed for 'Digging into Food Policy' - it introduces the People's Food Policy Project and some general questions.
  • Dig into one of our discussion papers and find a section that is relevant to your community.

 Information Resources

  • La Via Campesina's website provides a great perspective on the international food movement that the PFPP is part of.

Other 'How To' Resources

  • Bits and Bytes should be your first stop - it is an online searchable database of food information and tools.

  • Dig in! is a tool kit on food sovereignty designed by the Canadian Biotechnology Action Network, Check Your Head and the National Farmer's Union Youth.

  • Food Sovereignty Assessment Tool by Alicia Bell-Sheeter - a publication by the Native Agriculture and Food System Initiative of the First Nations Development Institute.  This is a fantastic resource that is applicable to First Nations and non-First Nations communities.
  • Soup's On! is a tool kit for hands on learning about the food system for pre-school to high school kids.

Please send suggestions for other resources to info@peoplesfoodpolicy.ca with 'resources' in the subject line.
