Partners and Supporters

Supporters

The success of this project depends on the strength and variety of partnerships it engages in the process of building the People's Food Policy. The People’s Food Commission won the moral and financial support of about 120 organizations, operating at the national, regional and local levels: producers’ organizations, trade unions, food cooperatives and consumers’ associations, health centers, indigenous organizations, churches and other faith communities, public interest research groups, and organizations working in international development cooperation and solidarity. It was an extraordinary initiative of public mobilization and we hope that, 30 years later, the People's Food Policy Project will engage civil society with similar strength and diversity.

Funders

The project was initiated with funding from Heifer International Canada. Financial and in-kind support has also been received from Food Secure Canada, Inter Pares, and USC Canada. This is a very ambitious project and to be successful it will need further financial support. Individuals or organizations who wish to contribute should contact the National Coordinator.
